I was born in 1977 in Koethen, Sachsen Anhalt, Germany.
After my higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) in 1997, I studied design at the Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein in Halle, Germany, where I earned a degree in textile design in 2002. At the same time, for my achievements in art, I was honored with the prestigious Wilhelm Lorch Stiftung Award.
My industrial training and internship were in Florence, Italy, with the Antico Setificio Fiorentino, and in St. Gallen, Switzerland, with Jacob Schlaepfer. I was awarded a scholarship by Création Baumann and worked in their studios in Cenate Sotto, Italy.
I studied romance, philology and art history at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany.
In 2005, I married publisher Bernd F. Lunkewitz. We have one daughter and two sons.
